When pressed on why he was moving the Space Command, which was revived in 2019, Trump said it wasn’t for any real military or strategic reason; instead, he told the press, “The problem I have with Colorado, one of the big problems, is that they do mail-in voting… so they have an automatically crooked election.”
Moving the Space Command will waste billions in taxpayer dollars, hurt Colorado’s economy, and impede our military operational readiness for years. It could also cost thousands of high-paying aerospace and defense jobs created as a result of Space Command’s presence in the state.
To put it bluntly, this is a politically motivated move by the President to punish a state that didn’t vote for him in the last election. It’s retaliation that will endanger the American people.
Space Force is currently headquartered in Colorado Springs, in a Republican-controlled district. But Republicans in the Colorado delegation continue to roll over to Trump’s will, no matter the harm it causes to their own constituents—including Gabe Evans, Lauren Boebert, and Jeff Crank.
We need leaders who will defend Colorado, who are proud Coloradans, and who will fight for our state—leaders like Dave Young.
If elected to Congress, in one of our country’s most competitive districts, Dave will fight tooth and nail for the interests of our communities, like he’s done his entire career. If you’re with Dave, consider chipping in a few bucks today >>
