Friend, when I launched this campaign, one core value was always on my mind—education. As a former educator and having received my doctorate degree in education, I have a deep understanding of the impact quality education has on a child’s future. I recently had the privilege of visiting some of the schools in our district on their first day of class and reinforced my commitment to advocating for our children in NC-01.

Ensuring every child has access to quality education, regardless of zip code, is critical to our children’s futures. While in Congress, I have fought to expand access to early childhood education in NC-01, lower the cost of higher education, increase resources for trade schools, and invest heavily in our HBCUs. Our kids shouldn’t have to leave the district to find better education opportunities—that's a concept as easy as ABC!
