More than a fifth of Americans get their health care coverage through Medicaid, John. About half of America’s children are covered by Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
Medicaid keeps our entire health care system functioning. Funding from Medicaid helps rural health centers stay open and keeps folks healthy so they don’t have to deal with growing long-term costs later on. It even helps boost states’ economies — like passing Medicaid Expansion did right here in NC.
But Republicans’ budget plan has slashed Medicaid funding, imperiling our health care system and putting folks’ health in jeopardy. They are playing politics with people’s LIVES, John.
