📍 How to Search by Address
To Start:
1. Click the geography pin icon in the single search bar on the landing page of data.census.gov.
2. Enter the street address in the pop-up window, as well as the city/state or ZIP code. For example: 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC, 20500.
3. Click the “Search” button.
4. View the address card, which contains a list of geographies the address falls within.
5. Click a geography to add it as a selected filter. For example: Census Tract 9800.
6. You will see the geography as a filter, allowing you to view results for that geography or apply other search criteria to narrow your search.
Note: If this does not meet your needs, you can use the Census Geocoder to find additional levels of geography that an address falls within.
