Washington, D.C. I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Labor Day Weekend with family and friends.

We are back in Washington, D.C. this week after a busy August work period! We hosted our 4th North Texas Job Fair where 35,000 job seekers were able to connect with over 500 employers from across the area. This past month we also sat down with small businesses and visited employers across Texas-24 who shared with us why they choose North Texas as a place to grow and create jobs. I also heard directly from you all about issues that matter most to you.

Tuesday, was the 80th anniversary of Japan surrendering and bringing an end to WWII. Every day we honor the Greatest Generation who sacrificed so much for the peace and freedom of generations to come.

I joined my colleagues on the House Floor to share about how America’s future is shining brighter than ever due to the tax cuts being delivered for working families.

In North Texas we are in a perfect position to lead this new era of American growth. Click here or on the image below to watch my remarks.

Great to meet with Ashley Donahoe and Kyllan Cody who both are CEOs for Encompass Health in North Texas. During their visit to Washington we discussed the Medicare Advantage program.

I had the opportunity to meet with Tides Medical, who manufactures tissue-based products for doctors to use in surgical procedures and at physician practices. They are innovating in the space and investing in technology like the first 3D skin substitute printer.

Had a wonderful meeting with members of the Brewers Association from across North Texas, including representatives from the Texas Craft Brewers Guild, Beatbox Beverages, and Longtab Brewing. We had a productive discussion on the regulations and legislation, including the Working Family Tax Cuts, that will directly help support local brewers across our community.

Wednesday evening, I voted to repeal three burdensome Biden-era regulations that have hindered American energy production. My House Republican colleagues and I are committed to unleashing American energy and lowering costs across the country. Read more below in my Work of the Week.

The Small Business Committee met to hold a hearing, “Wired for Growth: How Expanding Broadband Can Revitalize Rural Small Businesses.”  We heard from small businesses and rural providers who are experiencing this challenge.

I enjoyed meeting with NAPEO President Casey Clark, along with LJ of the LL Roberts Group and Kara of Vensure Employer Solutions to discuss a bill we are working on to protect the ability of professional employer organizations to serve their small business clients. We also talked about ways to improve efficiency and operations at the IRS.

On Thursday, the House passed the Energy and Water FY26 Appropriations Bill which included two of my provisions to cut wasteful spending at the Department of Energy. I appreciate the Republican Study Committee’s partnership in this effort!

Texas-24 Work of the Week

This week, we voted to repeal 3 Biden-era rules that were blocking our American energy production. By overturning these burdensome regulations we are lowering costs, strengthening our energy security and unleashing American energy independence.
