Sean Hannity is attacking me for something I will never apologize for: Standing with immigrant families in Illinois.
Hannity smeared me on social media for making sure families know where to find legal resources, community support, and protection from exploitation — especially as Donald Trump threatens to send troops into Chicago to target immigrant communities.
Hannity called it “undermining the law.” I call it defending innocent Illinoisans.
Providing our families with resources is not a crime. It’s compassion. And compassion is a value we’ll never back down from in Illinois.
Trump and his MAGA allies want to paint immigrants as criminals, strip away their dignity, and use fear as a weapon to divide us. They’re furious because we’re doing the opposite: Keeping families safe, building trust, and ensuring everyone has access to justice.
I won’t be intimidated. Not by Sean Hannity, not by Donald Trump, and not by anyone who tries to pit us against one another.
But this attack shows what we’re up against. They’re trying to turn my compassion into a liability — and they’ll keep doubling down unless we prove we’re ready to fight back.

In Illinois, we don’t back down. We meet hatred with unity, peace, and compassion — and together, we’ll keep proving it.
