NBC: Trump says he's moving Space Command HQ to Alabama because of Colorado's mail-in voting system

Donald Trump just announced he wants to move U.S. Space Command headquarters out of Colorado. His reasoning has nothing to do with national security. He singled out Colorado’s mail-in voting system as the excuse to rip away thousands of jobs and weaken our defense.

I love Colorado, and I will not stand by while a pathetic little man insults our state and gambles with our national security for his own political games. That’s why I joined the rest of the Colorado delegation in a bipartisan letter condemning this decision, and why I will fight like hell to keep Space Command in our state. Trump is lashing out because Colorado is a model for democracy. Since we implemented mail-in voting in 2013, more people have participated in our elections and fewer voices have been silenced. Our elections have never been more fair and secure. That’s the real reason he resents our state, because Coloradans of all walks of life have rejected him again and again in free and fair elections.

Uprooting Space Command would waste billions of taxpayer dollars, disrupt the lives of thousands of service members and civilian employees, and set back our space defense apparatus for years. Colorado has already built the workforce and infrastructure needed to lead, and there is no replacement for the expertise and innovation that thrive here.

I will never let Donald Trump undermine Colorado — not our democracy, not our communities, and not our role in defending this nation. But I need you with me. Join me in telling Donald Trump to back off of Colorado and leave Space Command right here in our state >> [link removed]
