Here are a few things I want to fight for as soon as I am elected to the state legislature that will ensure everyone has the right to work in a safe environment with a livable wage.
Protecting Unions - My promise to you is that when I am elected, I will always prioritize protecting unions, workers, and the right to unionize.
Unions should be uplifted, easy to form, and easy to join. Furthermore, I believe any corporation that participates in union busting should be fined. People are more important than profits, and every piece of legislation I support or create will reflect that.
California Minimum Wage - 25 dollars per hour minimum. This is necessary for us to afford the cost of living. Our wages must increase with the cost of rent, mortgages, and basic necessities. Our economy cannot be sustained if we do not pay our workers more.
Universal Basic Income and Rent Control - Workers cannot thrive if they are consistently accumulating debt and are afraid of losing their residence. Providing a universal basic income will allow people to afford necessities without going into debt. Rent control will help to cut out the corporate greed from developers and prioritize what renters need to be able to live.
We need a government that works for us.
