Dear John,
A husband, father, and bi-vocational pastor just lost his job because he would not say what he believes is untrue.
And the stakes are growing by the day. In the last 48 hours, the free-speech fight over compelled language went global: U.K. police arrested a well-known comedy writer over posts about gender, and J.K. Rowling condemned the move as "deplorable" -- a stark reminder that when officials police words, conscience is next.
This is not unlike what we have seen here at home, where Pastor Luke Ash -- a library technician at the East Baton Rouge Parish Library -- was fired after he respectfully declined to use male pronouns for a female coworker, citing his Christian convictions. The next day, he was terminated under the library's "inclusion" policy -- with no accommodation for faith or freedom of conscience. Local outlets have reported the story, and pastors across Louisiana have urged the board to reinstate him and revise the policy.
This isn't only Luke's story -- it's a test of whether government-funded institutions can compel speech and punish people for living by biblical truth. Even as U.S. courts recently curbed federal pronoun-enforcement guidance, public bodies are still adopting policies that squeeze out religious conscience. The question is whether believers are free to speak truth without losing their livelihoods.
As Christians, we are called to love everyone -- and we are also commanded to stand for truth. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." This moment asks whether people of faith will be silenced -- or permitted to live and speak according to that truth.
Family Research Council Action stands with Pastor Luke. Will you stand with him now?
Add your name to defend free speech and religious conscience.
Pastor Luke Ash -- a husband, father, and bi-vocational minister -- was fired from his job as a library technician at the East Baton Rouge Parish Library. His offense? He refused to lie.
When asked to refer to a female coworker using male pronouns, Luke respectfully declined, citing his Christian convictions.
"I'm not going to lie. I will not do it," Pastor Luke told his supervisor.
The very next day, he was fired -- under a so-called "DEI policy" that claims to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. Apparently, that doesn't apply to those with biblical beliefs.
This is a moment of truth. Will you stand with Pastor Luke and push back against the Left's deceptive and destructive ideology that punishes faith and undermines freedom?
If government-funded institutions can force people to deny biological reality or lose their livelihood, our First Amendment rights are in serious jeopardy.
