In early May, nearly 200 of our neighbors in South Nashville were rounded up in a sweeping ICE raid — a federal operation that had the blessing and cooperation of Bill Lee and Tennessee Republicans. They call it law and order. But here’s the truth:
📊 65% of people detained by ICE this year had no criminal convictions.
📊 93% had never been convicted of a violent offense.
Most of those detained are not and have never been threats to public safety. They are parents. They are workers. They are Tennesseans trying to build a better life for their families.
This is what Trump’s assault on innocent immigrants looks like: indiscriminate arrests, no due process, shattered families, and fear flooding our communities — all while DHS admits it can only name four people with criminal records out of the nearly 200 taken in Nashville.
