The Root of the Minnesota Shooter’s Suffering? His Furry Ex-Girlfriend

Previously undisclosed writings from Minnesota church shooter Robert Westman’s
journal emerged this week, showing him blaming his “furry” ex-girlfriend for
his murders and calling her the “root of my suffering.”

"I hope everyone blames you for making me do this. It's your fault,” he wrote
of 22-year-old Abigail Bodick. Social media is filled with images of Bodick
with cat ears and whiskers earlier this year at an anime convention.

Westman spent considerable time ranting about his furry lover, describing her
as a “dumbass b**ch” who is “so f**king stupid,” writing of his desire tokill
her, but saying he wouldn’t do it because it would “f**k up my plans” of
slaughtering children.

“I want to kill so many people. I will do it. All I want to think about is
guns and killing. Abbey keeps me from that with their annoying voice and stupid
s**t they say,” the journal reportedly added. “Let’s see how much you love me
after I complete my mission!”Read more

DOJ Could Ban Trans Gun Ownership

Politicians propose ways to stop mass shootings all the time. We received a
new one on Thursday.

The Department of Justice is considering blocking “transgenders” from
purchasing firearms in the wake of last week’s Minnesota shooting. The goal of
the potential ban is “to ensure that mentally ill individuals suffering from
gender dysphoria are unable to obtain firearms while they are unstable and
unwell,” a DOJ official told CNN.

Robert Westman’s own words suggest his “transgenderism” played a major role in
turning him into a madman.

“Gender and weed fucked up my head,” he wrote in his journal, according to a
New York Post translation. “I wish I never tried experimenting with either.
Don’t let your kids smoke weed or change gender until they are like seventeen.”

Democrats like Mayor Jacob Frey are denouncing discussions about Westman’s
“gender” as “hate being directed at our trans community.” They are wrong. As
the shooter’s own writings show, the trans issue is a major part of this story.

Florida to Eliminate All Childhood Vaccine Mandates

Florida’s surgeon general announced plans to eliminate all childhood vaccine
mandates this week, describing the current requirements as “immoral” intrusions
on people’s rights that hamper parents’ ability to make health decisions for
their children.

“People have a right to make their own decisions, informed decisions,” Dr.
Joseph Ladapo said at a news conference. “They don’t have the right to tell you
what to put in your body. Take it away from them.”

That message sounds awfully similar to the liberal creed of “My Body, My
Choice,” does it not? Isn’t it interesting that the left shrieks about bodily
autonomy when it comes to abortion, but takes the opposite stance on vaccines?
Why is that?Read more

“Full of S**t”: Vance Blasts Senators After Heated RFK Jr. Hearing

RFK Jr. sat for a fiery three-hour Senate hearing on Thursday, clashing with
lawmakers over his dismissal of CDC officials and tweaks to America’s
vaccination policies.

Kennedy made the politicians particularly angry by claiming the American
Academy of Pediatrics was “greatly conflicted,” arguing the American Heart
Association “has been corrupted by the pharma industry,” and defending
statements saying mRNA jabs can “cause serious harm” and even kill otherwise
healthy young people. Senator Bill Cassidy accused the HHS secretary of
“denying people vaccines,” which Kennedy denied.

JD Vance reacted to the spectacle on X, writing that “senators trying to
lecture and ‘gotcha’ Bobby Kennedy” are “full of s**t and everyone knows it.”

Trump to Rename Department of Defense “Department of War”

Donald Trump wants to leave a legacy. That means new government buildings like
his proposed White House ballroom, new institutions like the Space Force, and
new names for things that already exist. The Department of Defense is the
latest example.

The president is expected to sign an executive order renaming the DoD as the
Department of War on Friday, reverting the agency back to its original name.
That means Pete Hegseth’s title will change from “Secretary of Defense” to
“Secretary of War.”

George Washington created the original Department of War, and it maintained
its name until 1947. After World War II, it reorganized and became the
“National Military Establishment,” before settling on “Department of Defense”
in 1949.

The executive order will be the 200th of Trump’s second term. Read more

Court Blocks Closure of Alligator Alcatraz

Republicans became enraged last month when an Obama-appointed judge ordered
the Trump administration to wind down operations at Alligator Alcatraz. It felt
like yet another middle finger from America’s judicial system to the country’s
voters.

If you’re among those angered by the judge’s decision, we have good news. A
new development just turned the story on its head.

A federal appeals court overruled the closure and dismantling of the Florida
illegal immigrant detention center on Thursday, blocking Judge Kathleen
Williams from barring officials from sending additional detainees to the
facility. The court wrote that it was “entirely clear” how Williams concluded
that she could rule how she did.

Ron DeSantis confirmed that the facility is “open for business” shortly after
the ruling, writing on X that “the mission continues on immigration
enforcement.”Read more

NHS Surgeon Had Legs Cut off for “Sexual Gratification”

British authorities have sentenced surgeon Neil Hopper to 32 months behind
bars after he amputated his legs for sexual gratification.

The case’s bizarre details emerged during its trial. Hopper long got off on
the idea of removing his own body parts, going so far as to purchase
pornography videos of men willingly having their genitals extracted. He sent a
fellow fanatic named Marius Gustavson, whom officials previously jailed for
leading an extreme body modification ring, a photo of his erect penis before
making his move to rid himself of his legs.

How did he do it? Under Gustavson’s guidance, Hopper immersed his feet in dry
ice while his wife and kids were away from home. When paramedics arrived, they
believed he was suffering from sepsis. Hopper received £466,000 from insurers
after running with that claim.

“It’s going to be awesome being a double amputee,” Hopper wrote in a text
message before committing his crime. We doubt that prediction was correct.Read

They Think They’re God

Despite being a largely forgotten historical footnote, Tim Kaine really could
have become president.

It’s easy to imagine. If Donald Trump hadn’t run in 2016, Hillary Clinton
likely would have won. That would have propelled the otherwise irrelevant
Virginia senator to being a heartbeat from the Oval Office. Could the
presidency have killed Hillary and elevated Kaine? Of course. But even if it
didn’t, the idea of Clinton serving for eight years then passing the torch to
her VP in 2024 is far from outlandish. Under those circumstances, we’d
currently be living under a Kaine administration.

What would that have been like? We received a clue this week. Check out this
quote, which the senator spit out during a Foreign Relations Committee hearing.

“The notion that rights don’t come from laws and don’t come from the
government, but come from the Creator … that’s what the Iranian government
believes. … So, the statement that our rights do not come from our laws or our
governments is extremely troubling.”

That may be worth re-reading. Americans who recognize that rights come from
God, an idea among our country’s most fundamental founding principles, are more
aligned with Iran than the United States? Are you kidding? We’ve heard some
wild claims over the years, and that’s one of the most head-turning of all.

Is Kaine correct? Of course not. As The Daily Signal
<[link removed]>
wrote on Thursday, the idea of natural justice and natural rights existing
apart from human laws and institutions dates back long before Thomas Jefferson
– ironically, a Virginia man like Kaine – put it in the Declaration of
Independence. Biblical passages reference universal moral laws and suggest all
people have inherent worth as creations made in God’s image. Philosophers like
John Locke and Aristotle have spoken on the idea for centuries. It is a basic
truth.

So why would Kaine say otherwise? To deny God’s authority and suggest mere men
have the power that only the Creatorreally has is to deny God’s existence at
all. The whole point of God is that He transcends man; He’s in charge, not us.
You can’t hold the belief that God is real, but that we’re the ones in control.
Those ideas are direct contradictions.

Here’s another basic truth: every society needs God. People crave something
to worship and follow. They need guidance. You can probably see where this is
going.

The reason politicians pretend they have the power of God isn’t because they
want a Godless society. It’s because they want to be the god. They lust for the
ability to tell people what to do, say, and think, and they can’t stand the
idea of a higher power being superior to them. This is what makes our country’s
Founders remarkable. Despite ridding themselves of British rule, they remained
firmly aware that they were not the ultimate authority. God was, and still is.

Somewhere along the line, Western leaders have forgotten that reality.
They’ve lost the thread. Even if they drive us up a wall, we should pray for
their healing. They clearly need it.

This Day in History

September 5, 1975: Gerald Ford survives an assassination attempt. 26-year-old
Charles Manson cult member Lynette Fromme nearly ended the 38th president’s
life, raising a .45 caliber handgun toward him before Secret Service agents
wrestled him to the ground. Fromme committed the act as an attempt to win
Manson’s approval, seeking to establish herself as an environmental hero for
taking Ford out. The commander in chief survived a second assassination attempt
17 days later at the hands of another woman, accountant Sara Jane Moore. Both
culprits received lengthy prison sentences, and each escaped from custody.
