Hey everyone,
I had the opportunity to speak live yesterday with Jonathan V. Last of The xxxxxx, so in lieu of the usual free Friday newsletter (and because I’m doing family-reunion stuff for the next several days) I wanted to republish the conversation here for the whole community.
This had been on my Substack bucket list for a while now—I admire JVL’s transparency as a thinker, and thought it would be fun to compare notes with someone who sees the world much as I do, but from a different vantage point. Then, as it happens, we’d both recently published pieces on this topic—the feasibility of rebuilding and de-Trumpifying the government after years of destruction—so it all worked out serendipitously.
With apologies to those of you who already caught this live yesterday, it was a good conversation, and I think you’ll enjoy it, too.
