We can’t become numb to statistics like this.
What can Seattle teach us about gun violence, John?
Although homicides and gun violence numbers are steadily dropping, since 2022 there has been a steady INCREASE in the number of shootings — fatal and nonfatal — of people 17 and younger.
- In the first quarter of this year, 11.6% of all shooting victims were under 18.
- In the second quarter, that number jumped to 15.94%.
This isn’t just in Seattle. Across the country, guns are the number one killer of kids. This is preventable, and too many of our leaders are refusing to act.
How many more school shootings? How many more kids have to die before we can get change?
This is not normal, and it will keep happening until our leaders choose kids over guns.
Help us keep fighting to hold our leaders accountable and for the life-saving policies kids need to be protected from gun violence.

Your donation will directly support March For Our Lives' on-the-ground work to organize young people across the country to fight back against gun violence.
We’ve been working all summer to develop our plan forward and how to mobilize to meet this moment. March For Our Lives isn’t going away. It bears repeating, but we were founded under a Trump presidency, we know how to navigate this fight, even when government leadership is against us.
We’re excited to have more to share soon.
