Fellow Kansan,
Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter. I am back in Washington, D.C. for a week of legislative activity, committee hearings, and meetings. If you would like more information on what I am working on this week, be sure to follow me on social media.
I do not serve in Congress to be a caretaker in the slow demise of America— I serve to fight and work to make it stronger. That’s what I am doing while believing our brightest days are yet to come.
Yours in service,

The House of Representatives is back in session following the district work period. This week, we have passed legislation to confront our foreign adversaries, enhance national security, and stop the flow of Chinese fentanyl into our communities. I also participated in a Transportation and Infrastructure Committee markup focused on the Fiscal Year 2026 budget and FEMA oversight. As we prepare for future disasters, it’s vital that FEMA is equipped, responsive, and accountable to the people it serves.
Earlier today, the House of Representatives also passed the Energy and Water Development Appropriations Act, which unleashes American energy dominance, advances economic competitiveness, and safeguards taxpayer dollars from being used on Green New Deal policies that only drive-up costs. I proudly supported this bill to restore American energy dominance and lower costs for American families through deregulation.
| | Hearing from Kansas Law Enforcement | | When threats rise, law enforcement can't run away from danger; they run towards it. Last week, I conducted a Big First Law Enforcement Tour to meet with the brave law enforcement officers who keep our communities safe. I was grateful to get the opportunity to tour their facilities and hear from leaders about the challenges their agencies are facing and ways the federal government can continue to support them in their efforts to serve Kansans. As crime, hostility, and outright violence against law enforcement rise across the country, I proudly stand with and back our men and women in blue, and I'm grateful for the sacrifices they make every day to keep our communities out of harm's way. | | Supporting our Oil and Gas Producers | |
America needs an all-of-the-above energy strategy that unleashes energy dominance, strengthens the nation’s energy supply, and powers our lives without relying on foreign energy.
It was great to join Kansas Independent Oil and Gas Association at their annual convention to discuss how we can strengthen American energy production and support independent oil and gas producers who drive growth across Kansas. Thank you for working hard to aid American energy dominance.
| | Military Academy Applications | | Each year, I have the honor of nominating select students from the Big First District to join the ranks of the best and brightest in our nation’s service academies. If you or someone you know is interested in attending a U.S. Service Academy, my office is currently accepting military nomination applications through September 29, 2025. For eligibility requirements and to apply, visit my website. | | I met with Kansans across the Big First working in health care, agriculture, transportation, and research. We discussed the impact of the tax cuts and pro-growth provisions passed through our One Big Beautiful Bill, as well as ways federal policy can better support innovation, strengthen rural hospitals, and help local employers expand. I’m always grateful for the chance to visit with Kansans where they live and work, and to bring their perspectives back to Washington.
