John,
When responding to disasters, first responders utilize a triage system to try to save as many lives as possible. With limited resources they must prioritize the patients who are saveable over those who are beyond saving.
In the war rooms at the RNC, NRCC, and NRSC, Republican leadership are undergoing a triage process of their own.
With the 2026 midterms shaping up to be an existential catastrophe for their party, Republicans are working to figure out who they can save and who is too far gone so they can allocate precious resources:
Among those approaching the “too far gone” category is Lauren Boebert. As the adage goes, God helps those who help themselves. House leadership helps those who fundraise for themselves and Lauren Boebert just reported two of her most abysmal fundraising quarters ever.
Republican donors don’t take her seriously anymore and they’ve stopped giving.
On top of this, she is a carpetbagger in her new district. Aging and rural communities in the district are enraged over her cuts to Social Security and Medicaid. And in 2024 her Democratic opponent Trisha Calvarese performed the best a Democrat has ever done in her district since it went blue for Obama in 2008.
If we can massively outraise Boebert this quarter we can ensure that GOP leadership gives Boebert the beyond saving categorization—they will move to invest in other members whom their resources can save. Let’s ensure Boebert does not get a liferaft.
