John,
I am going to tell you something that really pisses me off: most Americans, just like you, don’t actually have a seat at the table.
Washington is out of touch, and a lot of our leadership just cares about how to get personally ahead. The media doesn’t speak to real people. And the biggest decisions in people's lives are often dictated from the top down by special interests and politicians who care more about the next big check than doing the right thing – case in point: our broken healthcare system.
This is what I believe: The politics of yesterday must end.
People are hungry for new leadership. Hungry for leaders who know what it’s like to fight, to work, to serve, to earn their seat at the table.
I wasn’t born into power, and I haven’t been courting insiders. I earned my place the hard way: son of immigrants, first in my family born in the U.S., bagging groceries to pay for school, serving my country in uniform, and fighting for justice in courtrooms and in government.
