We wrapped up the Great Minnesota Get-Together this week, and I wanted to share a few of the highlights (and a few photos) with you.
The State Fair is the best of us. It’s a big part of what makes Minnesota, Minnesota. Here’s why:
🌽 The food! Oh, the food. Whether you’re a pronto pup fan or a corn dog die-hard, you’re welcome on Team Peggy. Every year, the first thing I do is head straight for the Farmers Union — this year their Bison Meatball Sub was phenomenal. I also grabbed a bucket of Sweet Martha’s cookies and an ear of corn from the Corn Roast with my friend Elizabeth Warren.
🎨 Creative Showcases: Our talented artists, craftspeople, and exhibitors showcased incredible work that reflects the creativity and diversity of Minnesota. From the jingle dress and prize-winning quilts in the Creative Arts building to the Crop Art, I was amazed. Someone even submitted a crop portrait of me this year in the State Fair's crop art competition — that’s how you know you’ve truly made it.
🤝 Community Spirit: One of the best parts of the fair is the opportunity to connect with neighbors and friends from all over the state. I was lucky enough to serve milk at the All-You-Can-Drink Milk stand and chat with Minnesotans from all over. Minnesotans come together, and there’s no better way than over a glass of milk.
It was awesome. Minnesota has the best State Fair in the country, and this year proved it.
