A year for us to reorganize, take a breather, and prepare for the upcoming midterms. I am writing to warn you that we do not have this luxury. In 2025, Pennsylvania will have its Supreme Court retention election. While this may sound boring and procedural, it is anything but—MAGA is working night and day to knock off the Democratic justices on the court and ensure that PA never votes blue again. It is terrifying to me that I barely hear anyone outside of PA talking about this race. Already, I see MAGA activating influencers like Scott Pressler, a young MAGA “organizer” and influencer from Pennsylvania, who is hard at work organizing for the Supreme Court fight: The right is rallying for this fight, whilst Democrats are nowhere to be found. Losing here means an extreme abortion ban for PA, our Democratic congressional districts will be erased, and MAGA will be guaranteed Pennsylvania’s 19 electoral college votes. As the President of the Pennsylvania Young Democrats, my organizers are on the front lines of this fight. Being caught flat-footed here keeps me up at night, and this is what we are on track for unless we make a critical course correction. We have exactly 61 days until November 4th, 2025 to mount our comeback.
