John:

Good Morning from Capitol Hill.

The House and Senate are back in Washington after extended periods of recess.

This month, the Congress and White House are charting paths forward on spending - the Congress is moving forward with appropriations bills and the White House is signaling it wants a clean Continuing Resolution (CR). There also appears to be additional appetite for the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), legislation related to NIL, and the Senate possibly moving forward with the “nuclear option” on Trump nominees (more on nominees ([link removed]) from CPI’s Vice President of Programs, Rachel Bovard).

This week, Matt Dickerson, Director of Budget Policy and Brittany Madni, Executive Vice President, of the Economic Policy Innovation Center ([link removed]) (EPIC) join us to discuss potential options for what a second reconciliation bill might look like.
