What’s that smell,
friend? I
think it’s the distinct scent of new notebooks and freshly sharpened
pencils, which can only mean one thing: Our kids are back to school this
week!
Yesterday was the first day of school for our Minnesota public school
students, including my daughter.
Every time school starts again, I feel hopeful.
Hope for every child’s future, and hope for the future of our country.
Every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, and that means ensuring
their classrooms are well-stocked, their lunches are nutritious and free,
and their teachers are paid what they deserve.
These are not moonshot ideas — they are basic necessities that help
working families succeed, not just get by.
I'm committed to fighting for educational equity and making sure our
schools are environments where every child can thrive, but I can’t do it
alone. I need your support to make this vision a reality.
