Take FRC's Back-to-School Survey today and help protect the hearts and minds of the next generation.

Dear John,

As families around the nation have sent their children back to school, what should be a time of excitement and anticipation of learning is now clouded by uncertainty and concern.

In far too many schools, our children are not learning how to think critically -- they're being told what to think.

Gender confusion, radical sexual ideology, Critical Race Theory, and anti-Christian bias are now embedded in curriculum, policies, and even classroom libraries. These are not isolated cases -- they are nearly everywhere, shaping public education.

But the threats to our children are not limited to radical theories and ideas. When schools and society embrace godlessness, or as Romans 1 says, "...exchang[e] the truth about God for a lie..." the result is a culture that corrupts hearts and minds -- even to the point of violence.

Tragically, last week a Christian school in Minneapolis became the site of a shocking attack. A gunman, who reports indicate identified as transgender, opened fire on students attending Mass at Annunciation Catholic School, killing two children aged 8 and 10 and wounding 17 others, including more children and adults.

This deliberate assault on innocent children underscores the grave dangers our children face -- not simply from harmful ideology being taught but also threats to their physical safety.

Please join us in praying not only for the victims and their families of this heartbreaking tragedy, but for all of America's children.

As we mourn, we take to heart Jesus's sobering warning about those who cause spiritual harm to a child: "it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea" (Matt. 18:6). This moment calls for prayerful vigilance. Our children's safety -- in heart, mind, and body -- must be protected, including within our schools. As believers, we cannot look away; with truth and compassion, we must address what is happening.

The disappearance of biblical teaching and truth in our culture, especially in our schools, and the rise of mental health issues, radicalism, and violence are not two separate issues. They are interwoven.

That's why we want to hear from you. FRC's Back-to-School Survey is your opportunity to tell us what's happening in your community.

What's impacting your children or grandchildren? What resources do you need to push back? Your input helps us target our efforts and stand shoulder to shoulder with families across the country.

It's easy to feel outnumbered in this fight. Between school boards packed with progressive ideologues and national teachers' unions pushing harmful agendas, many Christian parents wonder if anyone else sees what's happening -- or cares enough to act.

Let us assure you: you are not alone.

Across the country, courageous families are rising up. They're attending school board meetings, requesting curriculum transparency, and challenging policies that directly threaten their children's innocence and their family's convictions.

In Virginia, one Christian teacher was fired for expressing her biblical views on gender and identity -- but she refused to remain silent, took legal action, and won. Today, she is back in the classroom, a living example of what bold faith can accomplish in the public square.

In Illinois, a group of concerned parents discovered that their children were being subjected to policies that undermined parental consent, violated privacy in locker rooms, and introduced explicit materials into classroom libraries. Rather than accept the status quo, these parents organized, raised awareness, and fought back. Their efforts sparked a statewide conversation -- and inspired others to speak up.

These are not professional activists.

They are moms and dads, church members, and faithful grandparents -- just like you -- who decided that protecting children was more important than staying comfortable.

At Family Research Council, we are working every day to help families like yours prepare the next generation -- not just to pass a test, but to pass the test of faith.

But in an ever-evolving educational landscape, we need to hear from parents and grandparents. Will you take a few minutes today to complete our Back-to-School survey?

TAKE THE SURVEY

As this new school year begins, remember this: the most important lessons your children or grandchildren will learn are not printed in textbooks -- they are written on their hearts.

3 John 1:4 declares, "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth." That's not just a verse -- it's a vision. A vision for the kind of legacy every Christian parent and grandparent longs to leave: a generation that knows God's Word, stands firm in faith, and is unshaken by the world's confusion.

John, we are not just in a cultural moment -- we are in a spiritual one. The choices we make today will echo through the halls of tomorrow's churches, homes, and classrooms.

Thank you for standing with us as we equip families to defend biblical truth and protect the next generation.

P.S. - And please -- don't forget to complete our Back-to-School survey. Your input shapes the way we serve. It tells us what's happening on the ground and helps us respond with clarity, compassion, and conviction.
