Dear Kansans,

 

As your former Governor and a dedicated Kansan, I’m reaching out with deep concern about a troubling situation at Kansas State University. It has come to my attention that Derron Borders, hired last year as KSU’s Civil Rights and Title IX administrator, has ties to an extremist Marxist group and a history of pro-terrorism, anti-Semitic posts related to the Israel-Hamas conflict. **These actions previously led to his suspension from his role as DEI Coordinator at Cornell University.**

 

To be frank, this is insane! It doesn't sound or look EMAW to me. 
 
**Entrusting someone with such extreme views to oversee civil rights and Title IX at KSU undermines the fairness and safety our students deserve.** Kansas families expect more from our state’s flagship land-grant university. 
 
Every student, regardless of background, should feel confident that their civil rights are protected by an impartial and trustworthy administrator.

**I’m calling for a thorough investigation into this matter and, if these allegations are confirmed, the immediate removal of Derron Borders from his position.** We cannot allow individuals with extremist ideologies to oversee critical issues like discrimination and Title IX compliance—it jeopardizes the trust and well-being of our entire campus community.

Further, it’s clear K-State made a serious mistake in hiring this individual. It’s no secret that our State Universities harbor many more far-left extremists pushing their agenda onto our kids.

 

It reminds me of a time in 2018 when two K-State professors organized a Medicaid Expansion Rally which incited violence on myself and fellow Republicans, at a local meet and greet event.

 

**As your next Governor, ALL State University hiring practices will be reviewed.**
