What a joy-filled August. Mr. Funk and I are back in Minnesota for the fall. I’m still riding the high of this awesome summer, reflecting on how to take all the energy I got from these providers and keep it going! Funk will reflect on… well, nothing because he’s a dog.

But thank you to all of you who contributed to my birthday bash with abortion clinics and their staff! We partied, we painted, we escorted, we supported. Far too many of my past summer reflections have brought regret that I did not fully manifest my summer vacay aspirations… but not this year!!

Let me wholeheartedly endorse dedicating some time and energy to lifting up the people who are fighting every day to make a difference. Not all of us can dedicate our lives to facing down fascism and religious extremism to provide essential healthcare the way that so many abortion providers do.

But what we CAN ALWAYS DO is let these dedicated abortion caregivers know how much we love and appreciate them. Mr. Funk and I were able to do that in person this summer thanks to support from people like you! Team work makes the dream work… and so do donations to Abortion Access Front! So chip in if you can… and maybe make it monthly?

Spending time with professional healthcare badasses and seeing their work in action helped me move back from the edge of despair. There is so much to fight for. And every day that we fight, people are getting the care that they need.

So thank you again for doing this virtual ride-along with me and the Funkster during my birthday road trip. It was the perfect way to celebrate my birthday during AAF’s 10th Anniversary year. With your support we can go another 10 years! Because I know that we will make it through this awful era of authoritarianism. We just have to stick together and keep lifting each other up.
