Dear John,
We know how much is at stake right now.
Our communities are under attack. From devastating school shootings to rising political threats in places like D.C., Chicago, and beyond. At the same time, the very programs proven to reduce violence are being stripped of the funding they need to save lives.
That’s why Community Justice is proud to support the Legal Power Series launched by the Community Violence Legal Network (CVLN) — a nationwide set of in-person and virtual events created to equip community-based CVI programs, leaders, and frontline advocates with the legal tools to defend their work.
Over the next month, CVLN will be on the ground in cities across the country — from Chicago and D.C. to Baltimore, Newark, New York, and New Haven. At each stop, the Legal Power Series will:
* Spotlight local CVI leaders and the legal challenges they face
* Share practical ‘Know Your Rights’ resources and legal tools
* Connect lawyers, organizers, and community advocates to fight together
