Hi, it’s Ghazala Hashmi — the Democratic nominee to be Virginia’s next Lieutenant Governor. The scores for the annual Standards of Learning tests were just revealed, and it’s safe to say there’s little to celebrate: |
I won’t sugarcoat it: Virginia public schools have faced severe underfunding, and as a result, our students have fallen behind in their learning recovery.
That’s why, in the state legislature, I led the fight to increase public education funding by almost $3 billion. But the latest test results show that there’s still so much work to be done.
And by this point, it’s clear that Glenn Youngkin, Winsome Sears, and all their Republican allies can’t be trusted to manage public education here in Virginia.
If we gave them another term in power, they’d gut funding for public education, leaving working families to grapple with a broken education system that fails to prepare their children for the future.
A better path forward is possible, but only if we work to make it a reality. That’s why I’m asking my top grassroots supporters a critical question: Do YOU support increasing funding for Virginia’s public schools? |
I’ve spent my career believing in the power of education. Thanks for standing with me in the fight for Virginia's children.
