Before anything else, I want to say thank you. Your support in August meant more than I can put into words.

Spending the August recess back home in Colorado was exactly what I needed. I had the chance to connect with people across our community; to listen, to share what I’ve been working on in Washington, and to hear firsthand about the challenges we must tackle together. People are worried about health care, about the price of groceries, about the epidemic of gun violence, and about the strength of our democracy itself. Those concerns are real, and they weigh heavily.

But I also saw something else everywhere I went: A fierce, undeniable fire for a better future. That’s what I’m carrying with me as I return to D.C. and I promise you, I won’t let it go out.

Trying to get real work done with Republicans who seem more interested in taking cues from Donald Trump than serving the American people is… well, let’s just say it’s not my definition of fun. But that doesn’t mean I’ll stop pushing, fighting, and calling them out every step of the way. We simply cannot let the Trump agenda shape our future.

That’s why September is so important. At the end of the month, we face our end-of-quarter fundraising deadline. This is a critical moment to prove that we are in fighting shape for the battles ahead. Every dollar we raise is a signal to Trump, the GOP, and anyone else who wants to drag us backwards that we are ready to take them on.
