Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe just called a special session to gerrymander the state’s congressional map.

Like they did in Texas, Republicans are once again taking marching orders from Washington instead of listening to their own constituents. But just like in Texas, if Missouri Republicans choose to move forward with this egregious attempt to rig their maps, they will be met with fierce opposition and outcry.

Missourians, from proud union members to business leaders, have spent the last month speaking out to oppose this mid-decade gerrymander. And yet Missouri Republicans are pressing ahead anyway under intense pressure from the Trump White House.

Now, Missouri Republicans face a choice: Listen to Missourians who oppose this mid-decade gerrymander, or fold to Donald Trump’s demands.

The NDRC is purpose-built for moments like this one. This Republican power grab is spreading into more states, and we need to step up our efforts to fight back wherever democracy is under attack.
