I want you to know something about this team, John: If you believe some of the things that make America great are liberty, democracy, and acceptance, this campaign is for you.
Extreme Republicans plan to limit people’s rights so only a select few have the power to decide our nation’s future or the freedom to determine how to live. They want to roll back reproductive rights, voting rights, civil rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and more because they don’t believe that the lives of all Americans are equally important.
And they’re willing to destroy our democracy itself to achieve their aim.
John, I still believe that government by and for the people is worth fighting for — and that means fighting for liberty and justice for all Americans.
It means speaking out for people who need a voice. It means defending the people that our federal government has made a mission of attacking. It means securing access to health care, including abortion care. It means reaffirming our commitment to our democratic system of government — a system that is under threat like never before.
What’s happening in Washington and from extreme Republicans nationwide is just wrong, John. It’s up to us to stop it.
