Congressional Black Caucus Chair to Visit
Nashville!
We are honored to host
Congresswoman Yvette Clarke, Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus,
for a special fundraiser right here in Nashville. Congresswoman Clarke
has been on the frontlines in Washington fighting to protect our
rights, expand opportunity, and ensure our communities are not left
behind. This event is a unique chance to stand with her and
demonstrate that Tennessee is ready to be part of the national
conversation. Whether you can attend in person or make a contribution,
your support is critical. Every dollar and every show of solidarity
helps us strengthen our voice and keep pushing for the progress our
families deserve.

S. Perkins Road Bridge Renaming
Ceremony
Monday, September 22,
2025
9:30 AM - SHARP

On Monday, September 22, 2025, we
will gather in Memphis to honor a true local hero with the dedication
and renaming of the S. Perkins Road Bridge as the Maurice Ira Salmon,
Jr. Memorial Bridge. At just 20 years old, Maurice Salmon bravely
risked his life in March 1980 to stop oncoming traffic and rescue
others when the bridge collapsed, saving lives through his courage and
selflessness. This ceremony, sponsored by Leader Karen Camper, is a
moment to pay tribute not only to Maurice’s extraordinary sacrifice
but also to the values of service, bravery, and community that he
embodied. We invite you to join us at 9:30 AM at 4725 Showcase Blvd.
to honor his legacy and ensure his story continues to inspire
generations to come.

Minority Enterprise Development Week 2025
Despite ongoing efforts to
dismantle congressionally authorized offices of minority business
development, as the Tennessee House Democratic Leader, I remain
steadfast in my commitment to supporting and uplifting our small and
minority-owned businesses. That is why I am proud to sponsor Tennessee
Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week 2025. This contracting
summit will bring together business owners, industry leaders, and
policymakers to discuss opportunities and strategies for growth in a
changing landscape. MED Week is more than an event—it is a declaration
that our communities will continue to build, innovate, and thrive
despite adversity.
