And let’s be honest: It is exhausting. Every week brings another climate rollback, another climate disaster, or another reminder of how much work we have ahead. That’s why I want to step away from all the noise for a moment and ask you:

What are you fighting for?

In those moments when the climate crisis feels impossible to solve or when you see our leaders failing us again and again, what makes you refuse to give up? There’s no right or wrong answer, John. If you have a few minutes, I’d love to hear what motivates you to keep going in the climate fight.

I'll go first, John:

I'm fighting for our natural world — for the songbirds that greet the morning, the towering sequoias that have stood for centuries, the clear, smogless skies above the Santa Monica Mountains, and every creature and moment of wonder that can make us smile.

I'm fighting for the communities on the frontlines of climate disaster, and for our Indigenous siblings who have long been the guardians of our most precious places — people who deserve leaders who put their safety over corporate profits.

And I'm fighting for our children and grandchildren who should never have to inherit a planet that's been poisoned by greed and neglect.
