Blue-State Governor Backs Down, Quietly Asks Trump for Help
A top Democrat governor just let the mask slip—and admitted he needs Trump’s help.
During a Fox News interview, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore was pressed on Baltimore’s crime epidemic, one of the worst in the nation. At first, he stuck to the usual Democrat talking points. But when confronted with Trump’s dramatic success in Washington, D.C.—where carjackings fell by nearly 90 percent—Moore finally cracked.
“I would absolutely welcome federal support,” he conceded, before quickly trying to walk it back with vague talk about license plate readers and “alternative” methods. What he refused to embrace was the one thing that’s already worked: Trump’s federal surge of National Guard and law enforcement.
The exchange exposed the Democrats’ biggest weakness on crime. Even their own governors know Trump’s approach delivers results—but they’re too trapped in partisan politics to admit it outright.
