John, it’s Hannah Pingree, and I’m running for Governor of Maine.
I recently wrote to you about a letter from my health insurance company — they’re raising my family’s rates by up to 35%.
And I know I’m not the only one. Thanks to President Trump’s budget bill, millions of Americans are at risk of losing their access to Medicaid, prescription drug prices are increasing, and health insurance premiums are skyrocketing.
It’s a full blown crisis. And it’s dangerous.
One of the most important things about running for office is listening. As I’ve been traveling around Maine, I’ve been hearing from Maine people about the ways this budget bill will impact them and their loved ones. From Moms who have to plan where and when to give birth because rural maternity wards are closing, families with kids with disabilities who will lose Medicaid coverage, and seniors who can’t afford their medicine.
Next, I want to hear from you. Would you be willing to share your health care story with me by filling out the survey below?
As the former Speaker of the Maine House and Director of Governor Mills’ Office of the Future, I know Maine’s governor has to be a strong first line of defense against the Trump administration. One of the ways we can fight back is by sharing our own stories about how dangerous his attacks are on our health care, and how skyrocketing costs impact families across Maine.
I know it isn’t easy to share personal stories, but hearing from folks can help shape how we pass laws to bring costs down and make life just a little bit easier for Maine families. Will you take my health care survey today?
Thank you, John.
Hannah
