| Studying a single issue over time often reveals important trends, and one trend there to observe is an increasing amount of hostility toward Christian churches and schools across the United States. Most recently, a former student at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, Minn. fired into a church window at an afternoon Mass and shot 19 people, two fatally. |

| School Board Meeting Becomes Platform for Dueling Protests over Fairfax Abortion Scandal |

| Two opposing political groups stood on Jackson Middle School's lawn. One group, decked out in rainbow colors, sporting bright pink socks, sea-green hair, and trans flags, held their signs up in the air, presenting them both to the cars passing by and to the conservative group behind them. But the group behind them, in the process of holding a press conference on the lawn, was not there to oppose transgender ideology. They were there to hold the Fairfax County School Board accountable during an ongoing investigation by the Virginia State Police. |

| A watchdog group, Defending Education (DE), exposed two of the largest teachers' unions for donating millions of dollars to left-wing organizations. According to DE's investigation, which was based on union disclosures to the Department of Labor from July 2022 to June 2024, the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the National Education Association (NEA) have collectively funneled over $40 million into liberal and far-left groups. |

| Trump HHS Turns Up the Heat on States to Slash Radical Gender Ideology |

| As part of his effort to rid the nation of woke ideology, President Donald Trump and his administration are warning schools to eliminate "gender ideology" material or face consequences. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and its Administration for Children and Families (ACF) announced last Tuesday that states implementing "gender ideology" material into federally-funded Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP) courses have 60 days to remove the problematic material or lose those funds. |

Add to that the fact that most people have no pointed celebration to the day's stated purpose. The grand finale of summer holidays - with Memorial Day marking summer's beginning and Independence Day the midpoint - has never seemed to have a purpose. |
