John, I’m Bob Brooks. I’m a firefighter, a dad, and someone who
has spent his life working hard for myself, my family, and my community.
Today, I’m announcing my campaign to defeat Republican Ryan Mackenzie in
PA-07. Last year, he won this race by just one percentage point. Next
year, we have the chance to defeat him.
[ [link removed] ]I want to tell you a bit more about who I am and why I’m running for
Congress, but if you’re already with me in the fight to flip this
competitive seat, then I’m humbly asking you to split a donation between
me and Blue Amp Action. →

I faced a lot of obstacles at home as a kid. My childhood was a mix of
challenges and hard work. My mom was a bartender, and my dad was a mason.
But in the early years, he served time in prison, so my mom raised me
mostly on her own until she remarried.
I was a kid who loved sports — football, baseball (I played every position
except pitcher and catcher), basketball, and wrestling.
I went to college mostly because I wanted to play baseball. But an injury
ended my career, and I dropped out soon after.
That’s why, from a young age, I worked plenty of different jobs. Paperboy,
fry cook, dishwasher, bartender, pizza delivery driver — you name it, I
did it. I know what it’s like to clock in early, work hard, and still
wonder if you’re getting ahead.
But in 2005, I found my passion: I became a firefighter with the city of
Bethlehem.
I threw myself into that job. I did every job the Fire Department had — I
started out driving Truck 2, drove under three different chiefs, moved on
to drive Ladder 2, and sometimes served as a hoseman. From the start, I
was deeply involved in the firefighters’ union, serving as secretary, vice
president, and president.
I spent 20 years there because fighting fires was more than just a job for
me — it was about serving my community and standing up for the people who
keep us safe.
I’ve worked hard. I’ve struggled. And I’ve lived through the hardships
that too many of my fellow Pennsylvanians know — but that politicians
never will.
That’s exactly why I’m running for Congress.
Republicans in Congress like Ryan Mackenzie are spending their time
prioritizing Donald Trump and the wealthy billionaires who back their
campaigns.
While families in PA-07 struggle with rising costs and making ends meet,
Mackenzie is busy supporting policies that slash Medicaid and SNAP to pay
for tax cuts to the rich and powerful.
We deserve better. We deserve someone who understands what working-class
families and small business owners are going through. We need someone who
knows what it means to work hard and still wonder if you’re going to get
by.
I’m that person, John. I’m running so that I can fight for you,
the people.
[ [link removed] ]So if you believe we need real representation in Congress that puts the
people of PA-07 first, I’m asking for your support. Please, make a split
donation between my campaign and Blue Amp Action today. →
