John,
At the intersection of racial justice, public health, and environmental protection, the environmental justice movement is one of the Trump administration’s prime targets for attack. But we are fighting back.
WE ACT for Environmental Justice, along with our allies, are suing the Trump administration for terminating millions of dollars in vital funding that would directly benefit frontline environmental justice communities across the country. Through the Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Center (TCTAC), WE ACT was building a stronger movement by helping local environmental justice organizations secure funding for crucial projects to clean our water, monitor air pollution, and create clean energy jobs, while growing organizational capacity and local economies throughout the region. Despite the success of our work, Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) illegally terminated this program on May 6, 2025. So that’s why we’re taking them to court.
The Trump administration has made it clear they wish to continue the legacy of environmental racism and expose our communities to significant harm from toxic pollution and climate catastrophe. We are fighting back, but we need your help to win. Donate now to our defense fund.
