On September 30, our government runs out of funding if Congress does not complete its fundamental obligation of passing legislation to keep it running. If this happens, the government will shut down on October 1, causing financial hardship to furloughed federal workers, delaying or disrupting vital public services and benefits, impacting travel, halting the issuance of small business permits, restricting access to national parks, and much more.
