Hi, Happy Labor Day!
Today, we celebrate the people who power this country and give their all so their families and communities can thrive.
We also remember the generations who fought for dignity on the job. The ones who faced down pink slips and picket lines so their kids could go to college. The ones who made it possible for our grandparents and parents to work hard and provide a good life for their families. We stand on their shoulders.
I recently joined UA Local 412, families, and friends for an early Labor Day celebration.
Solidarity, labor pride, and hard work bands this community together.
I’m running for governor because I believe New Mexico’s future belongs to working people — not billionaires like Donald Trump or CEOs who’ve never punched a clock in their lives.
But right now, Trump and his allies are attacking the very foundations of the labor movement. He’s gutting workplace protections, slashing healthcare and school funding, and doing everything he can to break unions from coast to coast.
Meanwhile, our campaign is proudly endorsed by SEIU, one of the leading unions for service industry workers in America. They know I’ll never stop fighting for:
🟢 Safe working conditions
🟢 Better wages and lower costs
🟢 Healthy schools with better outcomes and healthcare that working families can count on
🟢 A clean energy economy built on union jobs
This campaign is powered by people like you — educators, janitors, farmworkers, small business owners, students, and retirees who believe in the promise of a better New Mexico.
We support working people. We are working people.
Labor built this country. Labor keeps it running. And I’ll never forget where I come from — or who I’m fighting for.
In solidarity,
Deb
P.S. We need to win the New Mexico Governor’s race to keep up the fight for working people, but the GOP is eyeing this seat. Will you chip in $5 now to help us organize across the state and lift up every working New Mexican?
