Just over four months ago, I launched this Substack with a relentless focus on bringing you focused coverage of California through the lens of a straight-shooting constitutional conservative. Beholding to no one — not a media company, nor donors, nor any political party. Look for me to call balls and streaks and give you the straight scoop. I publish thoughtful and comprehensive content virtually every day (twice on weekdays). So far, there have been over 200 posts for our readers!

The Response Has Been Great!

The response has been great, and I already have a loyal free subscriber base of thousands, with more signing up each day! About two weeks ago, I launched a new paid tier, which has allowed me to gather resources to promote So, Does It Matter? It’s been truly amazing to watch hundreds of people upgrade their subscriptions and support my independent writing (not politically independent, but unfettered by writing for anyone but myself).

Below is our Content Calendar, which makes it easy to see. On weekdays, our morning posts are free to all subscribers (although many will include bonus content for paid subscribers). Our afternoon post will share a little with all readers, but like with an iceberg, only 15-20% of the whole thing is visible (until you upgrade). Two of our weekly features will always be free - our Top Ten Winners & Losers in CA Politics for the week, and our California Patriot Profile. For now, our weekly one-on-one interviews are free, but they will eventually be made available behind the paywall. From time to time, we share breaking news (mostly when something happens, and I’m near my computer). Free subscribers get the scoop, but paid subscribers get the “why it matters” analysis.
