Unions gave us the 40-hour workweek, labor protections, basic benefits, safer workplaces, and the leverage working Americans needed.
As I reflect on the progress unions have brought our country, I wanted to share with you some of my work and involvement on this topic.
First and foremost, I'm a member of the Labor Caucus, which is comprised of over 120 members working to protect workers’ rights, to advance the priorities of workers and the labor movement, and to connect legislators directly with workers and unions.
I proudly support legislation that's pro-union. This includes the PRO Act that supports workers by protecting their basic rights to form and join a union, while also cracking down on bad employers who mistreat workers. I also support the Protect America's Workforce Act, which would eliminate President Trump’s March 27 executive order seeking to end collective bargaining rights for unionized federal employees across several agencies.
And I'm unapologetic about pushing back on the Republicans and the Trump Administration as their proposals attack union rights, dismantle worker protection agencies, bargaining rights, and more.
