Dear Friend,
This Labor Day, I’ll be marching alongside workers in Louisville’s Labor Day parade, taking part in a great American tradition to stand in solidarity with them for their fair treatment and opportunity to thrive at work.
As your Attorney General, I’ve supported workers’ rights and protected their wages. I’ve stood with striking workers, established the first Worker Protection Unit at the AG’s office, and taken action against companies that mistreat their employees. As your next Governor, I will stay committed to ensuring fairness for all Colorado workers.

At 19 town hall meetings across the state on that merger, I heard a consistent message from workers: it would harm them by lowering wages, worsening working conditions, and threatening their pensions. I took those stories to our team and went to court to stop the merger. We succeeded in halting it.
We also challenged the companies’ agreement not to hire each others’ workers during a strike. The court has yet to rule on that challenge.
To protect workers, we established Colorado’s first ever Worker Protection Unit in the AG’s office. As Attorney General, I have taken action on wage theft, workplace mistreatment of employees, and the illegal use of non-compete agreements and training repayment agreement provisions (known as “TRAPs”).
Recently, we sued PetSmart and HCA for saddling workers with debt from misleading and unfair training costs. In our case against PetSmart, we challenged their deceptive “Grooming Academy,” which promised free training to help employees earn more. Instead, workers were later told they owed $6,000 for the training unless they stayed with the company for a set amount of time.
We’ve also enforced Colorado’s laws against the abusive use of non-compete agreements. We’ve taken on companies like US Anesthesia Partners and Jiffy Lube for the irresponsible use of such agreements which limit workers’ ability to seek better opportunities.
Please join me in fighting for fair treatment, better wages, and opportunities for every worker in Colorado. Your support makes this work possible.
