Dear friend,

The House of Lords is back from Parliament’s summer recess and the next historic debate of the the assisted dying Bill is fast approaching. There are only days left to make your voice heard – the window to act is closing fast.

Over the summer, the momentum behind the assisted dying Bill has only grown as Members of the House of Lords were flooded with personal letters from people like you backing this compassionate reform. This is a world-leading piece of legislation, backed by the public, parliamentarians, and professionals. But I am hearing from our supporters in Parliament that anti-choice campaigners are attempting to flood the Lords with emails, sent to undermine the Bill’s progress.

Together we can fight back. Every message you send helps reinforce and remind members of the House of Lords that this Bill has widespread public backing and has passed the elected House of Commons.

You can email the Lords in a matter of seconds using our quick and easy email tool: www.dignityindying.org.uk/emaillords

It’s essential to make sure Members of the House of Lords hear from people like you. Even if you’ve already written, sending an email today could make all the difference.

The law as it stands is not safe or fair. This Bill gives Members of the House of Lords the chance to put Westminster on the path to a kinder, more compassionate law – one that gives dying people real choice and protection.

Thank you for everything you’ve already done to support this Bill – and for taking a few minutes today to help ensure it passes. Together, we can show the Lords that public support is stronger than ever, and that people across the country expect action.

With my sincere thanks,
