I want to honor the people who keep Staten Island and Southern Brooklyn running. Union teachers, union healthcare workers, union construction workers, and everyone who shows up day in and day out to build our communities.
Unions have always been at the heart of these neighborhoods. They fight for fair wages, safe workplaces, and the respect every worker deserves. They are the backbone of our communities and the reason our neighborhoods thrive.
I don’t think there is another part of New York as union strong as Staten Island and Southern Brooklyn. We see the impact every day: union workers are the lifeblood of our streets. These are not just jobs, they are the building blocks of strong, connected communities.
I will always fight alongside working families and unions to protect their rights, expand opportunity, and make sure our neighborhoods continue to flourish. This Labor Day, let’s celebrate the people who make it all possible.
