John, Today is Labor Day — a day that honors American workers and all that they’ve contributed to our county. As a former teacher and union member, I’ve seen firsthand how our workers are critical to our everyday life, and how important workers' rights and fair pay are to making sure families can thrive. |
This holiday is a reminder that working class families are the backbone of our country — and that the rights we enjoy today are thanks to the fights of those who came before us. America is strong when our middle class is strong.
Labor unions, healthcare workers, utility workers, public servants, and small businesses are only a few examples of those who have historically fought for fair and safe working conditions.
Let’s all take a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come. Have a restful and proud Labor Day!
