Labor Day is more than a holiday for BBQs. It’s a reminder of our collective strength as working people. Today, our democracy is under attack. Donald Trump, his billionaire buddies, and even the Supreme Court are dismantling the hard-won rights secured over a century ago and threatening the foundation of our democracy.

At Jobs with Justice, we refuse to idly stand by. Our Advancing Black Strategists Initiative (ABSI) is leading the charge to build a bold vision for a multiracial democracy rooted in justice, economic equality, and the power of working people. Developed with historic Black institutions and community wisdom, ABSI is training and empowering a new generation of Black leaders—organizers, researchers, economists, and movement builders—who are reshaping the South’s labor and justice landscape and challenging the forces of exploitation.

This is the movement our ancestors imagined. Together, we can break the cycle of exploitation and create a future where everyone can thrive.
