Friend,
Today, we celebrate and honor the labor movement and its vital contributions to creating safe working conditions and protecting the dignity of all workers.
Here in Michigan, labor has always been at the heart of our story. From the sit-down strikes that established the modern middle class to today’s auto workers, nurses, teachers, and service workers demanding fair wages and respect, our state knows the power of organizing.
But that future isn’t guaranteed. Workers across Michigan are still fighting for good-paying jobs, the right to organize, and to keep money in the pockets of working families. That’s why it’s critical for us to keep electing Michigan Democrats who will stand shoulder to shoulder with labor.
The progress we’ve achieved only happened because of working together.
This Labor Day, let’s honor the past and recommit ourselves to the fight ahead. Together, we can ensure Michigan continues to be a place where hard work is valued and working people have a voice.
Happy Labor Day,
Curtis Hertel
Chair, Michigan Democratic Party
