REBELLION AGAINST GOD
& THE MURDER OF MAN
|
Last week, the nation learned of a "trans" in Minnesota expressing his hatred for his fellow man through murder and unthinkable violence upon helpless, innocent children.
It was followed by another angry "trans" in Massachusetts who murdered the father of a six-year-old. This father had just dropped his son off at school.
Yesterday, White House senior advisor on counter terrorism, Sebastian Gorka, countered CNN's efforts to ignore the "trans" dangers in America.
See the CNN interview here.
The parallels to Cain’s murder of his brother Able are clear. Cain succumbed to the deception which had led to Adam’s rebellion against God, seeking to eviscerate the divine from the life of man.
When the internationally influential theologian, Henri de Lubac wrote, in 1945, his magnum opus, The Drama of Atheist Humanism, he addressed this sin of Cain when he wrote of the 20th century move toward atheism in the West.
De Lubac noted the dominating idea of Russia’s famed writer, Fyodor Dostoevsky, that to kill God in man is to kill man himself.
Philosopher and political analyst, Eric Voegelin was a contemporary who was influenced by de Lubac. In his Science, Politics, & Gnosticism, published in 1968, Voegelin wrote that historically, the murder of God is not followed by superman, but, rather, by the murder of man. As he put it:
Deicide is followed by homicide.
One of Italy’s preeminent political thinkers and philosophers was Augusto Del Noce. In 1949, he published The Crisis of Modernity in which he wrote that the death of God empties man of everything sacred.
|
While the political left has certainly unleashed their rage upon the American landscape in the 21st century life, the trans community, in their hatred of the transcendent realities of the laws of God, have made headlines through their savage rampage against the innocent.
Death and Atheistic Leftism Go Together
It is as if Karl Marx's most beloved literary figure, Mephistopheles, the Satan figure in Goethe's Faust, has become the "trans" hero. One of Marx's favorite lines from Goethe's Faust comes as Mephistopheles says:
Alles was entsteht, ist wert,
dass es zugrunde geht
Everything that exists
deserves to die
~ Goethe's Mephistopheles

2023
Downtown Oklahoma
Two years ago, in downtown Oklahoma City, a building was for sale. It was located near the Tower Theater, an area flooded with leftist ideology, activism and vandalism. A friend took the picture (below) while viewing an outer alley wall of the building, which could be seen from 23rd street.
|
The graffiti suggests an apparent nation-wide message bubbling under in the "trans" community, a foreboding threat of violence wrapped in the guise of a call for proactive self-defense. It appeared in Downtown OKC in early 2023!
This point of concern for law enforcement has been bred in America’s system of education, nourished in the entertainment complex, and trumpeted by the journalistic fraternity which have combined to produce generations of social deviants unhindered by the voices emanating from the nation’s pulpits.
Dr. Piper spoke on the issue in his Washington Times article this past weekend.

Another week, another shooting:
The Devastating Consequences
of Abandoning Truth
| As a university president, I had a front-row seat as I watched hundreds of students descend onto my campus every year. Each fall, I watched with growing discomfort as the increase in self-centeredness became more apparent. From the athlete who was upset because his coach was too harsh, to the student who failed a test because the professor was “unfair,” to the co-ed who was incredulous because a faculty member dared to penalize her for skipping class; over and over again, I watched as one generation after another strutted into the classroom with the confidence that they were God’s gift to the ivory tower regardless of their academic performance or lack thereof. After all, how could they possibly be wrong? Each of them had a shelf full of participation trophies to prove it. | The narcissism was nearly pathological. Day after day, they stared into the shimmering light of their iPhones. Night after night, they gazed at their own image on Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok. They seemed to be like Narcissus, with no sense that what they were doing would result in them drowning in their own selfishness. As in the Greek myth, these young people were too drunk on self-adulation to admit what their hearts should have been telling them: It was all an illusion. The god they saw in the mirror was not real. |
Now, while I think we are always right to criticize this kind of self-absorption, maybe we should, at the same time, ask what role previous generations have played in creating these little demigods. Why are today’s youth so self-consumed? Why has this happened? Does at least part of the responsibility fall upon those preceding them?
How did we get, after all, from the Greatest Generation—meeting the challenges of an economic depression, World War II, the Korean War, and the Cold War—to the present generation so fixated on safe spaces that someone like Robert, “aka Robin,” Westman will actually pick up a rifle and start shooting people simply because their worldview offends his transgender sensibilities?
Much of the fault lies with education. It is indisputable that the American academy was initially a Christian invention; however, over the centuries, and especially in recent years, it has undergone progressive deconstruction.
The focus of today’s schools is no longer on knowledge, character-building, or truth; it is now on “diversity, equity, and inclusion.” Today, it’s all about “tolerance.” The mission has shifted from teaching what’s true to affirming everyone’s feelings. The classics have been replaced by cultural Marxism, Critical Theory, and Social and Emotional Learning. Relativism has replaced reality.
|
However, the lie of elevating tolerance under the banner of “I can’t tolerate your intolerance” and dismissing truth, while teaching “it’s true that nothing is true,” has given us a country of moral and intellectual nihilists.
If there is no objective truth and it doesn’t matter what you believe as long as it works for you, if, at the end of the day, my truth is my truth and yours truth is yours, it is inevitable that our opinions become the ultimate arbiter, and the idea that truth exists at all, let alone finding it, rather than creating it, is all but lost.
For decades, American schools have been churning out students with degrees in little more than opinions. We have raised a generation to be so assured of themselves that they have little confidence in much else.
They claim there is no truth, but then they presume their views are true. They demand justice while declaring themselves to be the only judge. They ridicule conservatives for their guns while shooting Christians while they pray. Completely oblivious to their self-refuting duplicity, the list goes on and on.
When any civilization's children are taught that the “older books” have little to offer and the Bible has nothing good to say about their morality, that civilization ceases to be civilized.
| I warned of this 8 years ago, in my book Not a Day Care, which is subtitled The Devastating Consequences of Abandoning Truth. |
A good education—a classical liberal education—is not about yourself, your safety, or your feelings. It’s about learning that there is something bigger and better, more trustworthy and enduring, than all that.
The only education that truly liberates us from the consequences of our own sins and the consequences of the sins of others is one that recognizes we all need a Savior.
The lessons of human history are clear. All the way back to the story of Cain and Abel, we read time and again that the inevitable result of abandoning truth is that we always start picking up stones and killing each other.

IN CASE YOU MISSED READING
ABOUT OUR SUMMER BREAK:
We were all pleased with our spring finale with Governor Stitt and a number of luminaries. Video clips are below.
For some time, I have needed a sabbatical to catch up on my reading, to reflect, and to think more seriously about my writing. For that reason, we are taking an extended summer break and will resume September 17 at the Oklahoma History Center.
We now have an event team who will assist in our meetings which will oversee the September 17 meeting with Our Oklahoma Supreme Court Chief Justice. Former U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft will be our guest in November.
In 2026, we will conduct weekly meetings in the spring, from February to May, in an effort to provide meaningful content for our legislators.
