Good morning,
Jack
!
Today, we pause to honor the working people who built this country—and the labor movement that has fought for generations to make work fairer, safer, and more dignified.
Organized Labor gave us the weekend. It gave us the 40-hour workweek. It gave us overtime pay, child labor laws, safer workplaces, and the right to retire with dignity. Every advancement for working families in this country has been made possible because people stood together, raised their voices, and demanded better.
Labor Day isn’t just a holiday—it’s a reminder that progress is never given; it’s won. And the fight for fair wages, safe conditions, and respect on the job continues today.
As we celebrate, let’s recommit ourselves to supporting workers, strengthening unions, and ensuring that every Hoosier who works hard can build a good life for their family.
