John,
This Labor Day, we celebrate the working people who built every corner of this country and, along with it, the middle class. Today and every day, the Democratic Party is proud to be the party of working people.
In contrast, though Trump promised to usher in a “Golden Age of America” — his disastrous economic policies and Big Budget Betrayal are a direct attack on Colorado working families. Trump and his administration have waged some of the most vicious attacks on workers’ rights this country has ever seen. The message is clear: Trump and Republicans stand with billionaires who will never know what it means to punch a timecard or live paycheck to paycheck.
Unions are a crucial check on billionaires seeking to use government services and policies for their own personal profit. That’s why today and every day, the Democratic Party stands with labor unions and all working people and their families. We will fight like hell to combat Trump’s harmful attacks on working Americans and defend Colorado working families’ rights to dignity, security, and opportunity.
Here is how you can be involved this Labor Day:
Denver #WorkersOverBillionaires Labor Day
About this event:
The billionaires continue to wage a cruel war on working people, with their cronies in the administration, ICE and law enforcement backing up their attacks. This Labor Day we will continue to stand strong, fighting for public schools over private profits, healthcare over hedge funds, shared prosperity over corporate politics.
Working people built this nation and we know how to take care of each other. We won’t back down—we will never stop fighting for our families and the rights and freedoms that ensure access to opportunity and a better life for all Americans. The billionaire's time is up.
On September 1st we will continue the movement we launched together on May 1st, standing in solidarity with all our communities under attack and fighting for real wins for all our people.
When: Monday, September 1 | 12 – 3pm MDT
Location: Colorado State Capitol | 200 E Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80203

Boulder Area Labor Day: Celebrating Workers Rights since 1887
About this event:
Join the Boulder Area Labor Council as we celebrate the fight for workers rights. Colorado was the first state in 1887 to celebrate Labor Day, and we proudly carry on that tradition by participating in the Louisville Labor Day Parade and with a rally of our own at the end.
Unions brought you 40 hour week, weekends, child labor protections; and we'll continue the fight to protect ALL workers for our inalienable human rights.
Stand in solidarity and march with us in the parade, and join us at Community Park at the end of the parade route for our own rally, where we'll share our local "People's Platform". Featuring our local labor champions, Lauren Folkert, Mayor Pro-Tem of Boulder and Nicole Speer, Boulder City Council member and our own local union members.
When: Monday, September 1 | 9:15am, 11:30am MDT
Location: Louisville Parade (Mustering location TBD), E Lafayette St. Louisville, CO 80027
