Hey y’all, can I tell you my favorite thing about running for office?
It’s what I’ve been doing for the last two months. Traveling around the state, meeting face to face with Texans, and listening to their stories about what’s working, what’s not, and how we can make things better. Just this month, I’ve had so many invigorating conversations.
I’ve talked to people like Edmund in Pearland, a senior and a veteran who is worried about the government attacking his health care and the benefits he’s earned.
I’ve talked to people like Jorge and Lexi, who are running a diaper bank in San Antonio to help parents who are working harder than ever with less to show for it – and are now facing rising costs due to the administration’s tariffs.
I’ve talked to women who have been unable to access the health care they need because of our state’s extreme anti-abortion laws.
I’ve talked to people who are sick and tired of career politicians like Ken Paxton and John Cornyn, who are rubber-stamping Trump’s agenda and giving tax breaks to millionaires instead of lowering costs for Texans.
And I’ve talked to voters who are angry – rightfully so – that Texas Republicans would rather rig our maps to stay in power than listen to their constituents for a change.
After these conversations, I've never been more convinced that not only can we win this race, but that we have to. I know in my bones Texans are ready for real change – and you don’t have to take my word for it.
Last year, folks like you helped me build a historic grassroots movement here in Texas, one that outran the presidential ticket by 200,000 votes – more than any other Senate campaign in the country.
After I entered this race in July, multiple polls have shown me with a lead that caused the Cook Political Report to upgrade our chances of winning.
And if that wasn’t enough, experts over at the Hill added this race to their list of the top five Senate seats most likely to flip, making it one of Democrats’ best pickup opportunities of 2026.
Now, all eyes are on Texas. Ken Paxton and John Cornyn are in a race to the bottom trying to out-MAGA each other. I’m ready to take on – and defeat – either one of them and be a voice for every Texan in the Senate. But the GOP is spending tens of millions of dollars to make sure that doesn’t happen.
Because of that, I have to do one of my least favorite parts of this job and ask you to chip in ahead of my end-of-month deadline at midnight tonight to help us keep powering this grassroots movement. [ [link removed] ]
I’ve never taken a dime of corporate PAC money, and I promise to keep it that way. But traveling around Texas, setting up rallies, funding phone banks, contacting voters, and doing everything it takes to build a winning campaign requires A LOT of resources and support from folks like you.
With that in mind, I want to personally thank you for investing whatever you can, for putting your faith in me, and for joining our fight to make Texas the best it can be.
All my best,
Colin
