Hey John, it’s California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

I’ll get right to the point: Donald Trump cannot be allowed to steal the next election by redrawing maps.

I've heard the calls to "Do Something!" And I agree. I don’t want to hold hands. It's time for action. Concrete action.

So that’s exactly what we’re doing here in California. But we can’t do it alone, John. This fight is going to be long and expensive so I’m asking today: can you chip in $3 to the DGA to help elect Democratic governors and push back Trump’s dangerous agenda?

John, people need to understand the lines that are now about to be officially redrawn in Texas are not about party.

They are about power.

And if we’re not successful in fighting back, we may have enjoyed our last free and fair election.

They're not just redrawing districts to hold the House. They’re going after ActBlue and Democrats' ability to fundraise. They’re going after colleges and the free press.

We have to act.

All of us will have a role to play in fighting back against Trump’s schemes – and I can't do this alone. So what I am hoping for is an absolutely enormous show of momentum today to help us fight Trump’s extremism.

The amount isn't nearly as important as the donation itself. What matters is everyone who can stand up to Trump and for the rule of law.
